2016 CHARITIES

The Polar Bear Club is thrilled to have two wonderful charity partners for the 2016 Jump:

CAMP QUALITY OHIO

Camp Quality Ohio is returning for a third time having been co-charity in 2012 and 2014.  In their 19th year, Camp Quality provides hope, support and opportunities for children with cancer and their families year round, free of charge.  They do this by hosting ten activities throughout the year, with the highlight event being a week-long overnight camp for children ages 4-18.  The camp allows children to build self-esteem and confidence in a medically safe environment.  It is hosted on Rex Lake, just a short boat trip away from the Jump site.  Every $1,000 raised funds one child for the week-long camp, and achieving a $50,000 goal for Camp Quality will fund this memorable experience for 50 children.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF AKRON

Ronald McDonald House of Akron is a returning for a second time having been co-charity in 2014. Research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children heal faster and cope better. The House allows parents and families to be close by their sick child at Akron Children's Hospital. They have been serving families since 1985 and continue to provide all their services for the minimal request of a $10 per night donation. In the spring of 2016 they will break ground on an expansion project that will grow their house from 20 rooms to 60 rooms so that they can keep even more families "together when it matters most".
